It’s become a clearly evident representation of our culture when people start to become tired of current technology trends. According to a variety of sources and surveys many people are bored with current tech, from Smartphones to social media to tablet computing. In a society with such a short attention span, it’s only a matter of time before people are ready for the next big thing. And while things like Facebook have had an outstanding run (8 years), many think they’re just a passing fad. True tech lovers are constantly seeking the newest app or the next big social network in the sea of never-ending new content, but many in the general populous feel most of the content is just the same thing presented with a different name or a different look. It begs the question, are we in a technological slump or have we become expectant of frequent innovation? What will be the next big fad, and how long can we expect it to stay?
