If you’re anything like me, you experience this sort of “aha” moment when you’re learning a new skill. Everything seems to click and you find success. Improving interaction and increasing followers on your social media channels is pretty similar. One of the biggest exceptions in social media is that your learning experience is live for the world to see.
Luckily, you can do some research and prep beforehand to be better prepared. I’ve included three quick tips to gain followers and engagement on social media.
1. Personas
Define each segment of your target audience as a persona. Research each persona. Know who each persona is, what they value and how to speak to them. Write and create content and media that speaks to these personas.
2. Channel research
Be sure your time and efforts target the correct channels. There’s no point in expending energy if your target audience isn’t there. That’s the same as selling to an empty room. You’d never do that, right? Find your target first.
3. Promote your channels
Tell people where to find you. Talk about your social media channels. Include links in your email signatures, on your websites and in print materials.
These steps will help you get started on a quick track to experience your own “Aha!” social media moment. Good luck!
